Some examples are Software Defined Radio, amplifiers, PLLs, arrays, antennas, filters, RFICs, metamaterials and systems from EW to 5G Communications. Presentations last 30 minutes including questions. Please note the presentations are accepted based on technical merit and tutorial talks are of the greatest interest. The audience consists mostly of technical staff from North East industry and academia.

The CGY2105XHV is an extremely Low Noise Figure Dual Amplifier with state of the art Noise Figure and Linearity suitable for applications from 500 MHz to 4 GHz.
The CGY2105XHV consists of two identical amplifiers on the same MMIC is ideal for use in a balanced configuration. Used as a balanced amplifier with 3 dB couplers, a 0.42 dB Noise Figure, 33 dBm Output IP3 and 19 dB Gain is obtained at 2.5 GHz.
These are measured values and include the noise contribution of the couplers, connectors and biasing circuitry. The minimum Noise Figure of the CGY2105XHV itself is 0.26 dB at 2.5 GHz.

MCT 2-657/45 is a single component, flexible, solvent-resistant, electrically conductive sintered silver adhesive that has been optimized to allow for a variety of application methods including screen printing, stenciling, and dispensing circuits with fine line widths and spacing. This product features excellent adhesion to Indium – Tin Oxide coated surfaces, polyimide, polyester, glass, polycarbonate and other substrates and has virtually no bleed and minimal spreading, tailing, or stringing. This product is very resistant to methyl ethyl ketone and other aggressive solvents. It is also very resistant to flexing, scratching, and creasing. Some applications for MCT 2-657/45 include, but are not limited to; touch screen bus bars, solar cell grid lines, EMI/RF shielding of polyimide flexible circuits, polymer thick film circuitry, and membrane switches. MCT 2-657/45 is a super fine particle version of MCT 0802-31.

Some applications for MCT 2-657/45 include, but are not limited to; touch screen bus bars, solar cell grid lines, EMI/RF shielding of polyimide flexible circuits, polymer thick film circuitry, and membrane switches. MCT 2-657/45 is a super fine particle version of MCT 0802-31.

Quadri- state outputs (when applicable) allow expansion in many directions, depending on organization.

Epoxy Ring Bleedout Issues Solved See U.S. Tech press release
With substrate real estate shrinking to “I can barely see it” dimensions, die placement very close to active wirebond areas was a major issue as pretty much all available adhesives had epoxy ring runout of as much 300-500um. Wirebonding down from a die or to a die with lines and wire placement as close as 250um is now pretty much standard. MicroCoat Technologies has developed their MiniDot technology for conductive and non-conductive die attach adhesives as the adhesives of choice for very small die, micro BGA’s, MCM, etc. placement/attachment.
MCT SD0802-31 fine line/fine dot conductive adhesive with a Thermal conductivity of 8W/mK and MCT 1107-2 non-conductive adhesive will give you <75um epoxy ring sitting uncured for 2 hours and <125um when cured for 1 hour at 150C. The SD0802-31 is a frozen material with RT storage of 5-6 days and 12 months at -40C; MCT 1107-2 is a non-frozen material with Room Temp storage of 6 months and 12 months at -20C. Both materials are extremely low moisture absorption adhesives and have passed >1 year at 30oC/85%RH and should be able to be used in MSL1 packaging. The World Wide Web was invented in 1989 as a system of interlinked documents that could be accessed on the Internet. In the early 1990s, Web servers and browsers were developed and the first Web pages appeared. Twenty years ago, in 1998, the GM Systems launced its website, www.gmsystems.com . My son Robert helped me as he was taking web design in school. Here's what it looked liked. We all have come along way..........

JANUARY 2 - Summary of The first annual Long Island Power Electronics Symposium & Exhibits
The first annual Long Island Power Electronics Symposium & Exhibits was held on 2017 November 9 from noon to 8 PM at the Hauppauge Radisson located at 110 Motor Parkway, Hauppauge LI. All area professionals involved in all sectors of power electronics were invited.
At the event, 46 companies showcased their products and services in a 40-table exhibit hall packed with attendees, while two technical lecture tracks took place in separate chambers. After a complimentary networking lunch, the lectures were kicked off with a keynote address by Sam Aronson, former BNL Director, where he discussed ongoing humanitarian efforts to power off-grid African villages. Technical presentation topics included recent advances in GaN, digital control of power electronics, bi-directional DC/DC conversion, and stability analysis of linear and PWM power amplifiers. Wrapping up the technical lectures was an inspiring talk on the Tesla Science Center (TSC) at Shoreham, presented by Neil Baggett, a member of the TSC Board of Directors.
The official attendance count at the Symposium was 375, including lecturers, exhibitors and general attendees.

AUGUST 6 - Cirtek Electronics (Philippines) acquires U.S. antenna solutions company Quintel®
MANILA - Local electronics manufacturer Cirtek Holdings Philippines Corp. is buying a Silicon Valley-based antenna solutions company, QUINTEL, its president said Monday.
The company is acquiring Quintel, a product design company that produces the "most advanced seller antennas in the world," said Roberto "Jojo" Dispo.
Dispo said this acquisition, priced at $77 million, is the first of its kind, where a local company is buying a US-based technology company.
"This will bring Cirtek to a global market space and we will bring pride to the Philippines, as well as to usher in a new era for companies in the Philippines by breaking into a Silicon Valley business which is dominated by many US companies," Dispo told ANC's Market Edge.
Quintel is being used by major telecommunications companies in the US such as AT&T and Verizon, said Dispo.
Apart from doubling the company's revenue for 2018, Dispo said the acquisition will also generate jobs for Filipinos, locally and in the US and other parts of Asia.
The company, he said, posted an advertisement for hiring 20 fresh- graduate engineers immediately for deployment in the Silicon Valley and in Asia, potentially Singapore, for their manufacturing expansion.
He added, as soon as part of the research and development facility of Quintel is transferred to the Philippines, "we will be recruiting top graduates from engineering universities in the country to be able to populate that R&D lab."
He also revealed that Cirtek is eyeing 2 more acquisitions in the next year and a half in the area of artificial intelligence and data analytics.
Dispo said there are also offers from international foreign investment banks to bring them to a roadshow and introduce them to investors and also "potentially accessing the international capital market, either equity or debt."

The Components for Military & Space Electronics Conference & Exhibition has invited AVX to contribute for the seventh consecutive year. This year, AVX will teach an in-depth training seminar, present two technical papers, & showcase its extensive portfolio of high-reliability mil-spec componentsFOUNTAIN INN, S.C. (March 27, 2019) – AVX Corporation, a leading manufacturer and supplier of advanced electronic components and interconnect, sensor, control, and antenna solutions, is teaching a training seminar, delivering two technical presentations, and showcasing its extensive portfolio of high-reliability mil-spec components at the 23rd annual Components for Military & Space Electronics Conference & Exhibition (CMSE 2019), which will take place April 16–18 at the Sheraton Four Points Hotel in Los Angeles, California.
Widely recognized as the most comprehensive conference dedicated to the design, reliability, and application of both military and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) components in avionics aerospace, military, and commercial space systems, CMSE addresses topics including electronic components, testing, reliability, and supply chain, and places a special emphasis on new technology and design practices. The first day of CMSE 2019 will consist of five in-depth tutorial sessions, including the Passive Component Reliability Workshop, which will be co-taught by AVX’s Ceramics Technical Manager, John Marshall, and AVX’s Technical Marketing Manager – Tantalum, Chris Reynolds, and presented in three sessions covering capacitors, inductors, and resistors. Days two and three of the event will feature two keynotes, exhibition hours, and a total of four technical conference sessions, one of which — Session 1: Passive Components for Military and High-Reliability Space Systems — will feature presentations by both Marshall, “Base Metal Ceramic Capacitor Developments on X7R Products for Space and High-Reliability Applications,” and Reynolds, “MLCC and Tantalum Electrolytic Capacitor Interchangeability in High Capacitance Applications.”
