NOVEMBER 21 CIRTEK IN THE NEWS
CIRTEK Holdings Philippines Corp. looks to deliver strong profit growth for 2018, after earnings doubled for the first nine months of the year.
In a regulatory filing, the listed technology firm reported a net income of $3.5 million in the third quarter of 2018, 208% higher year-on-year. This followed a 31% uptick in sales to $33.6 million on the back of robust growth across all business units.
Revenues from Quintel, the United States-based firm Cirtek acquired in 2017, contributed $16.9 million.

Epoxy Ring Bleedout Issues Solved See U.S. Tech press release
With substrate real estate shrinking to “I can barely see it” dimensions, die placement very close to active wirebond areas was a major issue as pretty much all available adhesives had epoxy ring runout of as much 300-500um. Wirebonding down from a die or to a die with lines and wire placement as close as 250um is now pretty much standard. MicroCoat Technologies has developed their MiniDot technology for conductive and non-conductive die attach adhesives as the adhesives of choice for very small die, micro BGA’s, MCM, etc. placement/attachment.
MCT SD0802-31 fine line/fine dot conductive adhesive with a Thermal conductivity of 8W/mK and MCT 1107-2 non-conductive adhesive will give you <75um epoxy ring sitting uncured for 2 hours and <125um when cured for 1 hour at 150C. The SD0802-31 is a frozen material with RT storage of 5-6 days and 12 months at -40C; MCT 1107-2 is a non-frozen material with Room Temp storage of 6 months and 12 months at -20C. Both materials are extremely low moisture absorption adhesives and have passed >1 year at 30oC/85%RH and should be able to be used in MSL1 packaging. The World Wide Web was invented in 1989 as a system of interlinked documents that could be accessed on the Internet. In the early 1990s, Web servers and browsers were developed and the first Web pages appeared. Twenty years ago, in 1998, the GM Systems launced its website, www.gmsystems.com . My son Robert helped me as he was taking web design in school. Here's what it looked liked. We all have come along way..........

JANUARY 2 - Summary of The first annual Long Island Power Electronics Symposium & Exhibits
The first annual Long Island Power Electronics Symposium & Exhibits was held on 2017 November 9 from noon to 8 PM at the Hauppauge Radisson located at 110 Motor Parkway, Hauppauge LI. All area professionals involved in all sectors of power electronics were invited.
At the event, 46 companies showcased their products and services in a 40-table exhibit hall packed with attendees, while two technical lecture tracks took place in separate chambers. After a complimentary networking lunch, the lectures were kicked off with a keynote address by Sam Aronson, former BNL Director, where he discussed ongoing humanitarian efforts to power off-grid African villages. Technical presentation topics included recent advances in GaN, digital control of power electronics, bi-directional DC/DC conversion, and stability analysis of linear and PWM power amplifiers. Wrapping up the technical lectures was an inspiring talk on the Tesla Science Center (TSC) at Shoreham, presented by Neil Baggett, a member of the TSC Board of Directors.
The official attendance count at the Symposium was 375, including lecturers, exhibitors and general attendees.

AUGUST 6 - Cirtek Electronics (Philippines) acquires U.S. antenna solutions company Quintel®
MANILA - Local electronics manufacturer Cirtek Holdings Philippines Corp. is buying a Silicon Valley-based antenna solutions company, QUINTEL, its president said Monday.
The company is acquiring Quintel, a product design company that produces the "most advanced seller antennas in the world," said Roberto "Jojo" Dispo.
Dispo said this acquisition, priced at $77 million, is the first of its kind, where a local company is buying a US-based technology company.
"This will bring Cirtek to a global market space and we will bring pride to the Philippines, as well as to usher in a new era for companies in the Philippines by breaking into a Silicon Valley business which is dominated by many US companies," Dispo told ANC's Market Edge.
Quintel is being used by major telecommunications companies in the US such as AT&T and Verizon, said Dispo.
Apart from doubling the company's revenue for 2018, Dispo said the acquisition will also generate jobs for Filipinos, locally and in the US and other parts of Asia.
The company, he said, posted an advertisement for hiring 20 fresh- graduate engineers immediately for deployment in the Silicon Valley and in Asia, potentially Singapore, for their manufacturing expansion.

The company is acquiring Quintel, a product design company that produces the "most advanced seller antennas in the world," said Roberto "Jojo" Dispo.
Dispo said this acquisition, priced at $77 million, is the first of its kind, where a local company is buying a US-based technology company.
"This will bring Cirtek to a global market space and we will bring pride to the Philippines, as well as to usher in a new era for companies in the Philippines by breaking into a Silicon Valley business which is dominated by many US companies," Dispo told ANC's Market Edge.
Quintel is being used by major telecommunications companies in the US such as AT&T and Verizon, said Dispo.
Apart from doubling the company's revenue for 2018, Dispo said the acquisition will also generate jobs for Filipinos, locally and in the US and other parts of Asia.
The company, he said, posted an advertisement for hiring 20 fresh- graduate engineers immediately for deployment in the Silicon Valley and in Asia, potentially Singapore, for their manufacturing expansion.
